Casa Dragones, an independent ultra-premium sipping tequila, has announced the next venture in its ongoing commitment to Mexico’s rich history of art and design, craftsmanship, ingenuity and innovation: La Casa Dragones Experiences. La Casa Dragones Experiences are once-in-a-lifetime tours, tastings, and events hosted at the tequila company’s newly renovated private home in San Miguel de Allende, La Casa Dragones. A former 17th century stable for the Dragones cavalry, among the heroes of the Mexican Independence, La Casa Dragones reopens after a year-long restoration and redesign project, offering rare and immersive experiences in a setting of mid-century Bajio and contemporary Mexican design.
A UNESCO World Heritage city and the ‘spiritual home’ of Casa Dragones, San Miguel de Allende is renowned for its charm, history and culture. One of Mexico’s most beautiful cities that has been twice voted Travel + Leisure’s ‘Best City in the World’ as well as Condé Nast Traveler’s ‘Best Small City in the World’ for six consecutive years, it is the cradle of Mexican Independence, and since the early 20th century, an epicenter and home to artists, writers, and creatives from around the world– making it one of the most coveted travel destinations.

La Casa Dragones Tequila Tasting & House Tour: An unforgettable experience at La Casa Dragones where guests can reserve a guided tequila tasting of Casa Dragones’ family of expressions– Joven, Blanco, Añejo, Reposado– led by a tequila expert, it includes a guided tour of the historic property. This experience is perfect for groups of up to twelve people.
After Dinner Cocktails: In March, Casa Dragones will offer a new experience in San Miguel de Allende’s most exquisite bar, The Obsidian Bar. Reminiscent of a Parisian speak-easy, The Obsidian Bar will be available for reservations of up to just twelve people, from 9pm-11pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Guests will be offered a selective menu of signature Casa Dragones cocktails, crafted on the spot with the brand’s local mixologist. Craft cocktails will change regularly, per season, and dependent on fresh ingredients.

La Casa Dragones Private Tequila Tasting & House Tour: Reserve an exclusive tour of La Casa Dragones where guests explore Casa Dragones’ four expressions in the beautiful courtyard, stunning new Obsidian Bar and reimagined house, showcasing contemporary Mexican Bajio design. Ideal for private groups or gatherings of up to 24 people.
Pairing Table Dinner: Host a sophisticated and luxurious pairing dinner in the courtyard of La Casa Dragones for the ultimate private culinary experience. Guests can customize their dinner with welcome cocktails or cocktail experience, a choice of pairing menus from renowned chefs local to San Miguel de Allende, music, florals, and more.
Sipping Tequila Reception: Celebrate cherished moments in La Casa Dragones’ elegant courtyard – home to the original 17th century stables of the legendary Dragones of San Miguel cavalry. From weddings to birthdays and beyond, guests can tailor their event with personal touches and a selection of thoughtfully curated drinks and cocktails, sipping tequilas, small bites, music, and more.
In collaboration with Meyer Davis Studio, renowned Mexican art curator Ana Elena Mallet and interior designer Raul Cabra, La Casa Dragones houses four bedroom suites available for exclusive, invite-only stays. A new ground-floor bar, The Obsidian Bar, seeks to provide guests a transportive experience that includes the sipping tequilas and their terroir as the iconic stone is culled from Casa Dragones’ own agave fields – located in the heart of the house where actual stables of the Dragones cavalry resided.
Highlights include Mexican designer, Héctor Esrawe’s Solsticio, a site-specific lighting fixture anchoring La Casa Dragones’ three-story staircase based on his revered Parábola series. Additional designers tapped for commissions include Caralarga, Daniel Couttolenc, Angela Damman, Trine Ellitsgaard, Piedra Fuego, Fernando Laposse, Caterina Moretti, Citlalli Parra, Taller Experimental de Cerámica, Aldo Álvarez Tostado and Rafael Weber, among others. With its restoration, La Casa Dragones represents sophistication, tradition, cultural pride and appreciation for Mexico.

Casa Dragones Tasting Room Experiences
Located in Dôce18 Concept House, the Casa Dragones Tasting Room is a six-seat destination for private tequila tastings and bartender residencies. Until Summer 2023, the Casa Dragones Tasting Room will remain open only for purchasing Casa Dragones Sipping Tequilas.
Private Tequila Tasting: Available for three seatings from Wednesday to Monday, experience a tequila tasting of Casa Dragones’ four expressions at “The Smallest Tequila Bar in the World” at Dôce 18 Concept House in the heart of the brand’s spiritual home, San Miguel de Allende. The Casa Dragones Tasting Room is temporarily closed for tequila tastings while Dôce 18 Concept House is under renovation.
