The city is also known for its canal system which earned it the nickname of Little Venice.

More times than not, when it comes to Morocco, Americans don’t know much — if anything, it’s Marrakesh. It’s the economic center, there’s beautiful stuff to see, blah, blah, blah. But if you’re ready to get off the mainstream and experience a more authentic Morocco, Chefchaouen is a great place to land. First and foremost, get your cameras ready. Known as the Blue City, the first thing you’ll notice is that the landscape is covered in shades of blue. Beyond that, fall in love with the food. Moroccan cuisine is known for its use of a vast range of spices, aromatic herbs and traditional methods.
